ECONOMIC STATUS OF OUR REGİON

Central Anatolia is defined as the gateway to the west of Eskişehir; transportation convenience, energy facilities, suitable agricultural structure and rich mineral resources, as well as in the industry is a highly developed illicit.

The rapid growth of the urban population according to the rural population, the presence of a cultivated workforce potential, the proximity of the province to the internal markets in geographical terms, the appropriateness of energy and raw material resources, the adequate infrastructure investments for the industry and the transport facilities have enabled the regional industry to develop gradually.

HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC LIFE

Prior to the Republic, the locomotive and repair workshop was established by the Germans in 1894 in Eskişehir, whose economy is generally based on agriculture, and this workshop was transferred to TCDD operation in 1924.
 
After the Republic, in 1933, the Sugar Factory and its machinery factory were established, and in 1965 the Sumerbank Printing Industry Institute was established. The Machinery Plant attached to the Sugar Factory became an independent enterprise in 1969. These factories provided the development of the regional industry and thus the revival of the economy.

In addition to the public sector, the private sector has also started to operate in a variety of fields; Toprak Industry, Flour and Products Industry, Wood Industry, Cement and Products and Steel Goods Industry and Machinery Industry have developed.

 In this case our knowledge, has become one of Turkey No. yl. Industrial areas such as Organize Industrial Zone and Small Industry Site have been established in order for the industry to work more economically and comfortably.

 In addition, the foundation of the F-16 Aircraft Engine Plant (TUSAŞ), which was started to be built in 1985, was completed before the time and opened on June 10

INDUSTRY

Eskişehir is a region preferred by investors with its existing industrial infrastructure. For the industrial area where there is no development area in Western Anatolia and Marmara Regions, the existing Organize Industrial Zone, equipped with all kinds of suitable infrastructure facilities, is becoming an attractive industrial center with development areas that have started development.

Our country is the only factory producing the single Aircraft Engine Plant (TUSAŞ) and Diesel Locomotive Engine (TÜLOMSAŞ). Again, the highest capacity refrigerator (ARÇELİK) and compressor factory of our country is in our province and preparations for the establishment of the second refrigerator factory are started.

In addition, biscuit production and production of stoves in our country has a large share in the country.

AGRICULTURE AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

Eskisehir is one of Turkey`s major agricultural centers. Especially, it has an important share in cereal production and it is an important place in the production of plants such as sugar beet. Because a large part of the arable land is dry land, all of the arable land can not be planted every year. In addition, the amount of annual precipitation falling to our knowledge makes this event inevitable.
